Accomplishments

Lest you think teachers do nothing all summer, let me tell you what I have done today.

I woke up at 7 AM.
I threw a load of laundry in to wash, including blankets, tote bags, towels, pillow shams, small throw rugs, etc.
I swept my whole house.
I had breakfast and coffee and watched the news.
I hung all the laundry out to dry.
I threw out some other things to sun (my helmet, a musty smelling brush, my rain jacket, etc)
I took out the trash.
I put away last night's dinner dishes (which I washed last night) and washed my breakfast dishes.
I walked to the gym and worked out.
I saw some friends at the pool and sat and talked with them for half an hour.
I walked home and took a shower.
I made lunch, which I subsequently ate.
I took laundry off the line, ironed it, folded it, and put it all away.
I drove up the street to have a neighbor put air in my tires.
I drove to the market to buy some fresh fruit and flowers.
I went to the supermarket to pick up some other things like milk and sugar and chocolate.
I came home and put all the things I bought in the empty apartment next door.
I also stocked the apartment with toilet paper, bedding, towels, etc.

ALL THAT and it's not even 2 yet.

WHY am I doing all this, you may ask?
Well, let me tell you.

1. It is the week of Idul Fitri, so my house helper has the week off which leaves me managing my own house which is kinda nice (also a never ending battle against ants and mold).
2. MY PARENTS ARE COMING! And they will be staying next door to me for almost TWO WEEKS! They are currently somewhere over the Pacific Ocean, and if all goes according to plan, I will get to hug them at noon tomorrow!
