this would be the first picture taken with my new camera. it’s of the inside of my friend liz’s room at her kost (boardinghouse). shout out to her parents who bought the camera for me in jakarta, where it was about $80 cheaper than in sala3, and mailed it to liz for me!
liz felt the need to prove that my camera can take pictures of moving things in the dark and make them look still. so while i was playing with her blackberry, she told me to wave my hand around. the camera does fine. and that’s why i bought it.
the camera in the mirror shot. someone help me decide what color this is. at first, i thought it was AWFUL, but it’s growing on me. so far, we call it telur asin, which is duck eggs soaked in brine for a long time then boiled and eaten. they are actually this color.
most of my ants are tiny and get into everything and i hate them. but i have this one gang of 7 big ants that are my cleanup crew. usually, if i spill something on the floor, i leave it there, and these guys come out of their home, wherever it is, march in a single file line across my kitchen floor, and carry spilled item away. problem solved. between my house helper and my ants, i’m getting REALLY lazy.
the fierce feline hunting geckos on my kitchen counter. he actually just finished eating one when i took this. while trying to catch it, he stepped on its tail, which promptly fell off and was left flopping around the counter while the cat chased the live-and-running-away-from-him part of the gecko. i tried to get a picture of the tail moving around the counter, but i stared in horror at the dismembered stump jumping around for so long that cat ate it before i thought to grab the camera.
hover spider? actually, he built his web to stretch between two of the three trees in my front yard. i still don’t know if he’s ingenius or not. we’ll see after we get a good wind.
talk about torture! i got a wedding invitation in the mail, tore it open, and this was the FIRST thing that greeted me! thanks, em, for the reminder of all i’m missing out on. siiiiigh… i don’t understand why i keep having dreams about walmart lately when target is SO much better! btw, i love the invitations em! : )
ok. that’s all the pictures on my new camera so far. an odd collection if i do say so myself.

Awww! Sorry for the painful reminder ;)...I've been having dreams that
a) we have a wedding and no one comes
b) we have a wedding and everything is upside-down, including furniture and people
c) we have a wedding and werewolves attack
sigh. want to trade? i'll take walmart dreams!
your dreams actually made me laugh out loud in the literal sense of the phrase. especially the part about werewolves. hmm. too much of something in your life, but i don't know what...
well, the dpreview.com site (the ultimate camera info site) refers to it simply as 'blue'.
I instantly thought it was a robin's egg blue.
After further research on http://www.perbang.dk/rgb/80DED6/ after determining the closest Pantone color was 7471 or 551 based on your photograph:
I would venture out on a limb and say it could be referred to as 'Robin's Egg Blue' or 'Medium Turquoise' or even 'Aquamarine'.
.... yes, I was horribly bored over lunch.
