yup, that’s right. ash is falling from the sky. i can feel it hitting my face as i walk. i can feel it gritty beneath my feet and in between my toes. it gets in my eyes, in my nose, and in my mouth whenever i talk. hotjaga says it’s extra protein. i’m about sick of wearing my facemask. ugh. i managed to stab myself in both eyes with it this morning. an act of sheer genius.
here’s some other pictures that i’ve taken within the last thirty minutes or so...
a plate, just after walking across my front yard with it – approximately one minute. covered in ash.
no wonder my feet feel gritty!
various parts of my motorbike – parked under cover, by the way.
it’s starting to rain now. hopefully it will rain hard enough to wash everything off. if not, we’ll end up with ash mud.
and lest anyone think i’m complaining, let me assure you that the plight of my brothers and sisters on the other side of the mountain is never far from my mind... they have endured - and continue to endure indefinitely - far, far more than this little bit of ash i find here. we are very blessed in our continued safety. but please keep praying for indonesia...
