30 December 2008

so we made some friends.
zubs and jay.
they're from south africa.
they were in our car that took us white water rafting.
we've been inseparable ever since.

the day we met them, we invited them over for dinner.
we cooked spaghetti.
but then the power went out, so we couldn't cook.
so we sat in the dark and talked.
right as we were in the middle of expressing our relief over bali not having 17 mosques sounding call to prayer right outside our backdoor 5 times a day, we discovered that they are muslim.
oops.
we then also realized that we had put pork sausage in the spaghetti sauce.
oops again.
so we had some good laughs.
then we had some good talks.
we've had lots of those in the past few days.
and soon they're coming to visit us in salatiga.
because they're world traveling right now, on their way to lombok for three weeks next, and what's a little jaunt to our town gonna set them back?
nada.

i'm excited for more good talks.
and some pork-less meals.

hi.

babbie.
my gosh. i love you.
and i didn't even notice that there was a comment on my post until like yesterday.
and it almost made me cry when i read it.
because i miss you a little more every day. and sometimes, i don't notice it for several days, but then i see a new blog post, or just something random that makes me think of you...and then i notice.
bleh. and my only consolation is that josh promises to get me a webcam as soon as he's done researching (:P), and i can finally have a way that's *close* to as good as going to visit you and lying on your floor...
but you're happy. and i'm happy you're happy on your mold-infested island with all the amazing people and places and dangers and differences that you love. maybe someday, josh will become a world-famous rock star or i will become a universally in-demand grahic designer, and we will come and stay with you wherever you are. because that would be amazing.
i love you, babbie.
