apparently, indonesian ants are very health conscious. i learned this on my walk to school this morning when i found a discarded and spilled vitamin supplement drink being swarmed by ants.
no wonder they stay so industrious! those ants, always looking out for their health.
of course, it probably doesn’t hurt that the supplement is honey flavored...

haha! well, i THOUGHT i had sufficiently ant proofed my kitchen. they have this chalk stuff here that ants can't cross, but it's invisible on the walls. so i basically just colored and drew lines ALL OVER my kitchen walls with that. i haven't seen many on the counters or dirty dishes lately, but apparently i didn't go high enough, because they came down from the ceiling and got in the over-the-counter cupboards. poptarts now live in the fridge along with all gum, chocolate, candy, medicine, and anything else whose molecular compound can be broken down to a puddle of goo by high humidity or whose packaging ants can chew through. :)
