My friend's dad lived through the night, and they have upgraded him to slightly more stable than severely critical. Still not sounding too good. As far as I know, he has not regained consciousness at this point, and the doctors have told the family to prepare for the worst.
In the words of one friend, "He could die soon. Or later".
