So the English teacher was randomly hanging out in my classroom during AP Calculus. He is a very smart guy, and he was looking at what was on the board (using definite integrals to find the volume of solids of revolution) and trying to recall how to do it.
One of my students decided to help him out and sauntered up to the front of the room and began his explanation.
"OK, so you need to start by finding the second integral of a matrix written using the Soviet form of the 1950s. You use this matrix to locate the coordinates of the vertices of the four dimensional geometric solid. Once you have that, then you need to evaluate the dimension of the matrix using the formula ab + cd = ef. Got that?"
The English teacher looked impressed so far, but commented, "I didn't realize there was such a thing as a four dimensional geometric solid."
Without missing a beat, the student replied, "That's because this is Orwellian math. There's probably a lot you don't know about it."
It was priceless.
