it is rather disconcerting to come home after dark and to have to drive AROUND the man literally sitting ON the road near your house. it gets even more disconcerting when you realize that the thing he's holding is a gun.
good thing i live in a country where firearms are illegal and it's at least 99% sure that he was holding was a bb gun. probably bat or squirrel hunting. bringing home the bacon.
in other news, i have felt lately like it's finally time to put down some roots here. so i've actually bought some stuff for my house! never one to invest too much in something i consider temporary, i went to town yesterday and bought plastic dishes to store leftover food in! because up til now, i've only had what i found in the house when i moved in - most of which have broken/cracked lids if they have lids at all. AND i found some sweet glass cannisters for storing things like flour and sugar in! and the best part is that ants can't get in! i usually just keep those things in the plastic bags they sell them in at market (i'm talking about the flour and sugar, not the ants - i don't buy bags of ants at market). ants floating in tea and coffee and being baked into cookies and breads have just been a fact of life for the past two and a half years in my house. well.... NO MORE, MY FRIEND! i have roots.
and oh yeah - school starts tomorrow.
